Gold Seal Roofing & Construction, Inc.,
was founded in 1997 by Don Ferguson,
its President. Don realized there
was a lack of quality and reliable
roofers in the area, so he decided
to fulfill that need in the
marketplace. Don holds a State
General Contractor and Roofing
Contractor License.
Today, Don runs a
successful business based in Temple
Terrace with eighty plus
professionally trained and skilled
employees providing services to
homeowners, management companies,
churches, apartments and
condominiums in the areas of
roofing, painting/texture coating,
windows, chimney caps, hurricane panels, vinyl
siding, sunrooms and room additions.
The company’s best customer is
a satisfied homeowner, or building
owner who gladly refers us to
others. Referrals are probably the
company’s best marketing tool, and
we have many testimonials on file
from clients we are happy to call
friends.
Don is actively
involved in many contractor and
consumer protection organizations.
He serves on the Florida Unlicensed
Contractor Task Force, Statewide
Disaster Recovery Plan Network, the
Board of Directors of The Florida
Roofing, Sheet Metal and Air
Conditioning Association, and the
Executive Board of The West Coast
Roofing Contractor’s Association.
He is originally from Kent, Ohio,
but came to Tampa in 1969 with his
father who was a Professor at the
University of South Florida.
Basically, he grew up in Temple Terrace
and still remains active in many
community activities in the Temple
Terrace Area. In addition, his
sister, Jennifer Ponte', plays a key
role in the company’s management in
the areas of accounting and human
resources.
The company is an active member of The Greater
Temple Terrace Chamber of Commerce,
The Carrollwood Area Business
Association, Bay Area Apartment
Association, Condominium Associates
Institute, The Better Business
Bureau and the Hillsborough County
Code Enforcement Board.
The company and its
employees are active in many
community events and local
charities, and the company was the
winner of the Greater Temple Terrace
Chamber of Commerce’s Ed Hanna’s
Business of the Year Award and was
also voted Temple Terrace’s Best
Roofer for 2005. The company
supports the Temple Terrace Youth
Sports Association, USF Football,
and has donated many hours of pro
bono roofing services to area
churches.

During the hurricane
season of 2004, Don and his
employees voluntarily removed tree
branches and debris from the streets
of Temple Terrace and hauled away.
The company provided the tile
roofing and labor that goes over the
Welcome Sign at the entrance to
Temple Terrace, and for the
community gazebo at Riverhills Park.
Don’s official duties
as CEO involve the overseeing the
overall management of the company,
meeting with commercial and
residential clients to determine
ways to best suit their needs, as
well as estimating and project
management.
The company stands
out from its competition because of
Don’s commitment to excellence in
workmanship, quality control, and
customer satisfaction. It is
this attitude that permeates to his
employees and instills an attitude
of pride and a sense of family at
Gold Seal Construction. |
